When thinking of custom, it is important to break it down into 1. Custom Application and 2. Custom Configuration even though they are closely aligned.
Custom Application
Custom applications consider high pressure water as a unique method to perform a processing function that is currently performed via a different method. Specific applications include surface preparation such as paint stripping and degreasing, but also slitting, piercing unique materials, contour shape cutting, food processing and more.
In any one of these instances, high pressure might replace an acid dip, sand blasting, knife trimming or a secondary operation performed by hand. The Custom Application analysis considers the cost and quality of performing the application and contrasts it against the use of high pressure water. Jet Edge consults with companies across a broad spectrum of industries on how to cut and clean unique materials as well as how to use high pressure water to perform various processes.
Custom Configuration
Custom Configuration focuses on customizing the equipment around the processing application being performed. Generally, when you get to Custom Configuration of the equipment, the goal is quality, throughput, and safety. What water pressures are best to use? Do I want multiple heads to perform a function? Are there other system features like 5-axis motion, component nesting, lights out cutting, laser mapping, shuttle loading/unloading system that improve both quality and productivity?
